302RDT: a rear dinette and a king in 29 ft 8 in
Four Ultra Lites share the 29 ft 8 in length, and the 302RDT is the lightest of them at 6,317 lb, 2 of 11 in the whole line. Its cargo carrying capacity of 2,279 lb is second only to the 301FKT's, and its GVWR of 8,596 lb leaves the same 2,279 lb over dry weight, 2 of 9 among the plans with a GVWR on record.
Forest River's drawing puts the bedroom at the front: a 72 by 80 inch king with a wardrobe on each side and pass-through storage at both front corners, each with an optional steel sliding tray. The bath, with sink, toilet, and shower, is mid-trailer. Behind it the off-door wall runs linen cabinet, pantry, fridge, and a 67-inch theater seat, while the door side carries the sink, microwave, cooktop, fireplace, and TV. The dinette spans the rear wall under overhead cabinets. The drawing also carries Forest River's Power Package badge for off-grid options.
Its body is published 4 in wider than the 96 in of nine siblings; only the 301FKT is wider.

The 302RDT's 45 gal gray tank is the tradeoff
The four Ultra Lites that put a dinette or living room across the rear, the 302RDT, 2618RD, 2916RL, and 2921RL, all carry a 45 gal gray tank; the other seven carry 90 gal. On the 302RDT that means a 54 gal fresh tank feeds a gray tank 9 gal smaller than it. That gap is arithmetic from the two published capacities, not a measurement of how fast any unit fills. The 2621RB, at the same length, has twice the gray capacity. The full tank package here is 144 gal.
Height is the other figure to watch. At 11 ft 7 in the 302RDT shares the tallest published height in the line with the 2711RK and 2916RL, 1 ft 11 in under a 13 ft 6 in clearance before anything else goes on the roof.
Hitch weight is 796 lb, 4 of 11 lightest, which is 12.6% of dry weight and the eighth lowest share of eleven. The king bedroom and both front pass-through bays sit at the hitch end, so what is stored there adds to that empty-trailer figure.
Where else a 302RDT shopper should look
Also puts a 44 by 81 inch dinette, labelled a U-dinette, across the rear and the bedroom at the front, with a 60 by 80 inch queen and a theater-seat slide. It is 1 in longer and 237 lb heavier, yet its hitch weight is 122 lb lower at 674 lb, the lightest in the line. It sleeps 3 and carries 359 lb less cargo.
Open record →Swap the dinette for a rear bathRockwood Ultra Lite 2621RBSame length, with a full-width bath across the rear and a 66 by 80 inch RV king at the front. It is 456 lb heavier and carries 512 lb less cargo, but its hitch weight is 56 lb lower and its gray tank holds 90 gal.
Open record →Lighter still, bedroom at the backRockwood Ultra Lite 301FKT2 in longer and 269 lb lighter, with 208 lb more cargo capacity and a hitch weight 61 lb lower. The king moves to the rear, the kitchen to the front, and sleeping drops to 2.

- Start at the rear dinette. At 44 by 81 inches it is the table for everyone the trailer sleeps, so seat four at it and check headroom under the overhead cabinets along the rear wall.
- Sit on the 67-inch theater seat on the off-door wall and look across at the fireplace and TV on the door side, next to the cooktop and microwave. Check the view to the TV with someone working at the counter.
- Walk forward past the fridge, pantry, and linen cabinet into the mid bath. Sink, toilet, and shower sit together between the living area and the bedroom; try the bath door against the aisle.
- In the front bedroom, open a pass-through bay from outside and pull the optional steel sliding tray if the unit has one. Gear stored there rides at the hitch end of a trailer whose published hitch weight is measured empty.
302RDT sources and Forest River's estimated averages
Length, height, width, dry weight, hitch weight, cargo capacity, tanks, and the 21 ft awning come from Forest River's 2027 Rockwood Ultra Lite 302RDT page and drawing, read on 2026-09-26. Forest River labels UVW and CCC as estimated averages based on standard build optional equipment, so the weight label on a specific unit governs. GVWR and sleeping capacity come from RVUSA's 2027 spec guide. Room positions are taken from the labels on Forest River's drawing.
