301FKT: 6,048 lb dry and 2,487 lb to load
Seven of the eleven Ultra Lites are between 29 ft 8 in and 29 ft 10 in long, so length barely separates them. Weight does. The 301FKT is the longest of that group by an inch or two, yet it is the lightest plan in the whole line, and its cargo carrying capacity of 2,487 lb is the highest of the eleven. Its GVWR of 8,535 lb sits exactly 2,487 lb above dry weight, the widest margin among the nine plans with a GVWR on record.
The hitch figure is low too, 735 lb and second of eleven, but not the lowest: the 2618RD publishes 61 lb less. As a share of dry weight the 301FKT's hitch weight is 12.2%, seventh of eleven, so this is a trailer that is light overall rather than one that is unusually light at the tongue.
Forest River's drawing runs in a straight line from hitch to bumper. The kitchen fills the front wall, with the microwave and cooktop in the off-door corner, the pantry in the door-side corner, and the fridge on the off-door wall just behind. The living area follows: a 67-inch theater seat facing a flip-up table with folding chairs and a TV on a lift, with the Solid Step entry beside it. Then comes the bath, split across the aisle, and last the bedroom, with the king across the rear under overhead cabinets and a 20 ft awning along the door side.
Forest River also publishes it wider than the rest of the line. The table below shows its exterior width, 5 in more than the 96 in body of nine siblings; the 302RDT is the only other Ultra Lite over 96 in, by 4 in.

Four checks for a 301FKT with the king at the back
- Walk from the Solid Step entry to the rear bedroom. The drawing puts the bath between the living area and the bedroom, with the shower and toilet in a room on the off-door side and the sink and linen cabinet on the door side, so every trip to the bed passes through the bath zone.
- Stand at the foot of the 72 by 80 inch king and open both wardrobes. The bed fills the rear with a wardrobe on each side and pass-through storage at both rear corners; check how easily each side of the bed can be reached and made.
- Raise the flip-up table, unfold the chairs, and run the TV lift behind it. Table and TV share the door-side wall across from the 67-inch theater seat, so try both in use at the same time.
- The kitchen, pantry, and front overhead cabinets all sit at the hitch end, and the 735 lb hitch weight is an empty-trailer figure. Food and cookware stored up front add to it, so weigh the loaded trailer at the tongue before a long trip.

Where the 301FKT figures come from
Length, height, width, dry weight, hitch weight, cargo capacity, tank sizes, and the awning come from Forest River's 2027 Rockwood Ultra Lite 301FKT page, read on 2026-09-26. Forest River labels the dry weight (UVW) and cargo carrying capacity (CCC) as estimated averages based on standard build optional equipment, so the weight label on the actual unit is the figure to trust. GVWR and sleeping capacity come from RVUSA's 2027 spec guide for this plan. Room positions are read from the labels printed on Forest River's floor-plan drawing.
