2618RD: the line's lightest tongue, in figures
What the 2618RD's rear U-dinette means for the tanks
Forest River's drawing fills the rear wall with a 44 by 81 inch U-dinette under overhead cabinets. Ahead of it, an off-door slide carries a 67-inch theater seat and the fridge, with a 68-inch hide-a-bed drawn as an option and the pantry beside the slide. The kitchen runs along the door side: fireplace and TV, cooktop, microwave with overhead cabinets, and a sink. A mid bath with a linen cabinet separates it from the front bedroom, where a 60 by 80 inch queen sits against the front wall and the wardrobe is in a small boxed-out section on the off-door side. Two Solid Step entries serve the living area and the bath end, and the drawing carries the Power Package badge.
The tradeoff is the gray tank. The 2618RD carries 45 gal of gray water against 54 gal of fresh, a 9 gal gap computed from the two published figures, where seven of the eleven Ultra Lites carry 90 gal. Its tank package totals 144 gal against 189 gal on those seven. For a buyer choosing this plan for its light tongue, the practical question is how many nights the trailer will spend away from a sewer connection.
Published hitch weight is measured on an empty trailer. On the 2618RD the queen bedroom and the pass-through storage bays at both front corners, each with an optional steel sliding tray, sit at the hitch end, so what goes into them adds to the 674 lb. Even so, it starts lower than the six other Ultra Lites with the bedroom at the front (the 302RDT, 2621RB, 2706BH, 2711RK, 2916RL, and 2921RL), by at least 66 lb.

- Seat four people at the U-dinette. It is the only table drawn on this plan, so it is where every meal happens.
- Ask whether the unit has the 68-inch hide-a-bed option in place of the standard theater seat. The drawing shows both for the same slide, and they change how that side of the living area is used.
- In the front bedroom, open the wardrobe in its boxed-out section and check that it can be reached with the slides in.
- Open the awning and use both entries under it. The 21 ft awning runs along the door side, and both Solid Step entries open beneath it.
