Kitchen across the back wall of the 2515S
Forest River's drawing lays the kitchen along the rear wall: microwave and cooktop under overhead cabinets, a sink under more overhead cabinets, and the fridge in the door-side rear corner. The off-door slide holds a 67-inch theater seat under overhead cabinets with a pantry at its rear end, and a 68-inch hide-a-bed is printed as an option. Across from it, a 39-inch dinette sits with a TV and overhead cabinets on both sides. The bath is mid-trailer with its shower on the door side, and the front is the bedroom: a 60 by 74 inch queen, overhead cabinets on the front wall, flip-up storage at its foot, a wardrobe, a TV option, and a small box labeled Shelves drawn out from the off-door wall. RVUSA counts two slides for this plan.
The reason to shortlist it is balance rather than a single record. It shares its 5,788 lb dry weight with the 2522FB, its 660 lb hitch weight with the 2520BH, and its sleeping capacity of up to 4 with two other plans, yet its 1,872 lb cargo capacity is 4 of 13 and its hitch share is 3 of 13 from the lowest. Two Solid Step entries, one by the dinette and one by the bedroom, split the trailer the same way the bath does.
The tradeoff is where the cooking happens. A rear kitchen puts the fridge, cooktop, and pantry at the far end from the hitch, beside the rear entry, and the 58 gal gray tank, one of four in the line, brings total tank capacity to 140 gal with 53 gal fresh and 29 gal black. What the layout does not offer is a separate living room: the theater seat and the dinette share the kitchen's end of the trailer, so cooking and sitting happen on the same floor.

Four stops through the 2515S, rear door to front door
- Come in by the rear Solid Step, which opens by the dinette, and run through one meal: fridge in the corner, cooktop and sink along the rear wall. Check whether someone sitting at the 39-inch dinette is in the cook's path.
- Sit on the 67-inch theater seat, or open the 68-inch hide-a-bed if the unit has that option, and check that the pantry at the slide's rear end still opens.
- Walk from the kitchen to the bedroom past the mid-trailer bath with both slides in, and check how the bath door closes off the bedroom end.
- In the bedroom, open the box labeled Shelves and the wardrobe beside it, lift the flip-up storage at the foot of the 60 by 74 inch queen, and leave by the front door.
The 2515S next to its mirror, its weight twin, and a shorter cousin
1 in longer and 110 lb lighter, with 50 lb more hitch weight and 160 lb more cargo capacity. The same three zones in reverse: kitchen across the front, bath in the middle, queen at the rear, with a 44 by 85 inch U-dinette in its single slide. Same 58 gal gray tank, two entries, and sleeping capacity.
Open record →Same length and dry weightRockwood Mini Lite 2522FBSame 25 ft 9 in length and same 5,788 lb dry weight, with 15 lb less hitch weight, 15 lb less cargo capacity, and the same sleeping capacity and slide count. The published difference that matters is the gray tank: 29 gal against 58 gal on the 2515S.
Open record →The same theater seat on a shorter floorRockwood Mini Lite 2205S2 ft shorter, 585 lb lighter, 60 lb less hitch weight, 281 lb less cargo capacity, one slide, and up to 2 sleeping places. It keeps a 67-inch theater seat with a 68-inch hide-a-bed option, but puts a 60 by 80 inch queen at the front and the bath in the rear corner, with the kitchen along the door side.
Open record →2515S source notes: UVW, CCC, and RVUSA's own figures
Length, height, dry weight (UVW), hitch weight, cargo capacity (CCC), tank sizes, and the 19 ft awning are from Forest River's 2027 2515S page, read on 2026-09-26, and the layout is read from the labels on its 2027 drawing, which carries the Power Package badge for off-grid options. Forest River calls UVW and CCC estimated averages based on standard build optional equipment. Sleeping capacity and slide count are RVUSA's 2027 figures. RVUSA's guide lists a GVWR for the 2515S that does not equal UVW plus CCC (7,660 lb by arithmetic), and a dry weight higher than Forest River's UVW. The weights on this page are Forest River's.
