Manufacturer floor plan
How the 2509S sleeps seven: bunks, a Murphy bed, a U-dinette
Forest River's drawing spreads the beds across the trailer. At the front, a 60 by 74 inch Murphy bed is printed over a 74-inch sofa, between two wardrobes and below a shelf on the front wall. In the door-side rear corner, 48 by 72 inch double bunks sit beside a bike door in the rear wall. The slide holds a 44 by 85 inch U-dinette with a wardrobe at its front end, and prints a 78-inch theater seat or a 78-inch hide-a-bed, each with tables, as options. The kitchen is mid-trailer (sink, fridge, cooktop with microwave, TV), and the bath, with a tub and shower, fills the off-door rear corner beside a pantry. Outside, the door side carries an outside kitchen with a pull-out griddle under an 18 ft awning.
In numbers it leads the family twice, sleeping capacity and cargo capacity, both 1 of 13, while its 5,563 lb dry weight sits mid-pack at 7 of 13. Only the 2520BH comes close on both counts.
Forest River's 2027 2509S page and drawing →The 2509S bottleneck: one bath and 29 gal of gray water
Seven sleeping places share one bath, a 53 gal fresh tank, and 29 gal each of gray and black capacity, 111 gal of tanks in all. Four Mini Lites carry a 58 gal gray tank, and this plan is not among them.
The published hitch weight, 700 lb, is 12.6% of dry weight, the second-highest share in the line after the 2108RB, and the Murphy bed, its wardrobes, and the front pass-through storage all sit at the hitch end. The 2,137 lb cargo figure is generous for the line, but it is an estimated average, and a large family's gear, food, and water all draw on it.
2509S walkthrough: bunks, bike door, Murphy bed
- Climb into both 48 by 72 inch bunks, and check how the top one is reached and how much headroom it leaves.
- Open the bike door in the rear wall and see what it reaches inside; the drawing puts it at the bunk corner, so check what has to move when it is used.
- Lower the Murphy bed over the 74-inch sofa and check that the wardrobes on either side still open with the bed down.
- Seat everyone at the 44 by 85 inch U-dinette. If the unit has the theater seat or hide-a-bed option instead, count the table places that come with it.
Measured against the 2509S's seven sleeping places
Same 25 ft 10 in length, 30 lb lighter, 40 lb less hitch weight, 10 lb less cargo capacity, and up to 6 sleeping places instead of 7. On the published figures it is the closest plan in the family to the 2509S.

It keeps the 44 by 85 inch U-dinette slide but sleeps up to 4, puts the kitchen at the front and a queen at the rear, and carries a 58 gal gray tank.

2509S: where the figures come from, and two RVUSA differences
Length, height, dry weight (Forest River's UVW), hitch weight, cargo capacity (CCC), tanks, and the awning length are Forest River's 2027 figures for the 2509S, read on 2026-09-26, and every room named here is a label on its 2027 drawing, which also carries the Power Package badge for off-grid options. Forest River calls UVW and CCC estimated averages based on standard build optional equipment. Sleeping capacity and slide count come from RVUSA's 2027 guide, which differs from Forest River twice for this plan: its GVWR does not equal UVW plus CCC (7,700 lb by arithmetic), and its dry weight is lower than Forest River's UVW. The weights on this page are Forest River's.
