4,472 lb and 557 lb: the 2109S at the light end
Every weight figure below is the lowest or close to it in the family, except the one that measures what the trailer can carry.
The 2109S tradeoff is 1,365 lb of cargo capacity
Light and short usually arrive together, and on the 2109S they bring the smallest carrying figure in the family. GVWR minus dry weight is 1,365 lb, the same number Forest River publishes as cargo capacity, and it ranks 5 of 5 among the Mini Lites with a GVWR on record. Every other plan publishes more: the 2108RB, 2 in shorter, lists 256 lb more, and the 2509S lists 772 lb more. That is arithmetic from the published figures, and because Forest River marks both UVW and CCC as estimated averages, the label on the actual unit settles it. Choosing between the two shortest plans comes down to 296 lb less trailer here or 256 lb more capacity on the 2108RB.
The layout asks for the load to be planned too. Forest River's drawing puts a 60 by 74 inch queen across the front with a wardrobe on each side, overhead cabinets on the front wall, and flip-up storage printed along the foot of the bed. The slide holds a 72-inch sofa with a 30 by 15 inch table, so meals happen at the sofa. The kitchen runs down the door side (TV, sink under overhead cabinets, microwave under the cooktop), the fridge and a wardrobe labeled Ward sit at the rear beside the entry, and a bath with a curved corner shower fills the off-door rear corner. Water in the 53 gal fresh tank, gear under the bed, and food in the kitchen all draw on the same 1,365 lb.
Forest River's 2027 2109S page and drawing →2109S checks: sofa table, flip-up queen, rear entry
- Lift the 60 by 74 inch queen on its flip-up storage and check what fits underneath and how the lift stays open.
- Set up the 30 by 15 inch table in front of the 72-inch sofa and seat three. With no dinette on the drawing, that table is where meals and laptops go.
- Stand at the rear entry with the fridge open. The fridge, the Ward cabinet, and the bath door share that end of the trailer, so check that they can all be opened in turn without trapping anyone.
- If a garage or carport depends on the 10 ft 3 in figure, ask for the actual unit's height with its roof equipment. It is 2 in under the 2108RB and 8 in under the other eleven plans.

If the 2109S is too tight on cargo
Each of these gives up some of the 2109S's light weight for something it lacks. Differences are computed from the published figures.
2 in shorter but 296 lb heavier, with 83 lb more hitch weight and a GVWR 552 lb higher. Cargo capacity rises to 1,621 lb. It sleeps one fewer, swaps the queen for a 60 by 74 inch Murphy bed over a dinette, and moves the bath across the full rear wall.
Open record →Same plan shape, longer queenRockwood Mini Lite 2205S1 ft 5 in longer, 731 lb heavier, GVWR 957 lb higher, hitch 43 lb more. The queen grows to 60 by 80 inches, the slide holds a 67-inch theater seat with a booth dinette or hide-a-bed as options, and a fireplace appears by the bed. It sleeps one fewer and carries 226 lb more.
Open record →Longer, almost the same hitch weightRockwood Mini Lite 2524FBT3 ft 5 in longer and 676 lb heavier, yet its published hitch weight is only 8 lb more, and its cargo capacity is 442 lb higher. It sleeps the same three.

Forest River's 2027 page for the 2109S supplies length, exterior height, dry weight (its UVW), hitch weight, cargo capacity (its CCC), tank sizes, and the 14 ft awning, and the rooms described here are labels on Forest River's 2027 drawing. Forest River describes UVW and CCC as estimated averages based on standard build optional equipment. RVUSA's 2027 spec guide supplies GVWR, sleeping capacity, and slide count; its 5,837 lb GVWR is exactly UVW plus CCC.
