The 17R's full-width rear bath and lengthwise queen
Keystone's tagline is "Single axle, non-slide, rear bath". The bath spans the whole rear wall on the drawing: the shower in the off-door corner, the toilet against the rear wall, and a linen cabinet in the door-side corner. Ahead of it the galley runs along the off-door wall with the refrigerator and microwave, a sink, a two-burner cooktop and overhead cabinets, and a booth dinette with its own overhead cabinets faces it from the door side. The queen, 60x74 with underbed storage per the features list, sits at the front with its head to the front wall, a shelf behind it and a wardrobe in each front corner.
By the numbers the 17R sits mid-line on weight and near the bottom on hitch share. It is 5 of 10 lightest at 3,061 lb, and its 368 lb hitch weight ranks 4 of 10. That hitch weight is 12% of dry weight, a lower share than every Coleman except the 23B. It sleeps up to 3, 9 of 10, and carries 1,239 lb of cargo, 6 of 10.
The layout choice here is bath versus bunk. The 17B, 3 in shorter and 10 lb heavier, uses the same kind of box for a bunk and a crosswise queen. The 17R gives that rear space to a bath that runs wall to wall and turns the queen lengthwise with its head to the front wall. The cost is sleeping capacity: it sleeps 2 fewer than the 17B. What it gains, by Keystone's figures, is a 30 lb lower hitch weight and 10 lb more cargo.
The features list shows a propane-equipped plan, unlike the 13R couples model: one propane tank on the spec table, a 2 burner gas range, a 20,000 BTU furnace, a 42,000 BTU tankless water heater and a sidewall A/C, plus full pass-through storage.

Three 17R checks between dinette and rear bath
- Walk from the queen to the rear bath. Every trip passes the dinette and the galley, so try it with someone standing at the stove.
- Open the linen cabinet in the rear door-side corner and step into the shower in the other corner, and compare the bath with the 17B's corner bath if both are on the lot.
- Find the third sleeping place. Keystone lists a capacity of up to 3, and the drawing labels a queen and a booth dinette, so ask whether the dinette converts and to what size.
17R versus the 17B, the 13R and the 19R
3 in shorter and 10 lb heavier, with a hitch 30 lb higher and 10 lb less cargo. It sleeps 2 more by putting a bunk bed at the rear and turning the queen crosswise.

Figures, the tagline and the drawing come from Keystone's 2027 Coleman 17R page, read on 2026-09-26. Keystone publishes dry weight as Shipping Weight, cargo as Carrying Capacity and the black tank as Waste Water; the 9 ft 9 in height is its single Height figure. The non-slide description is the tagline's.
