Start with the table
The 12,000 lb GVWR and the slide count are RVUSA's 2027 figures; the rest is Keystone's.
A patio wall on a rear-living plan
Keystone's tagline is "Rear Living, Electric Side Patio". The feature list names the rear living room, the electric side patio, a kitchen slide, a main slide-out, a 5,500 BTU electric fireplace, an entertainment center with hidden pantry, a 70 by 80 inch king bed option, a shower with skylight, dual heated tanks, an electric awning, slide toppers, a 60K tankless water heater, 18K plus 15K BTU air conditioners, a 30K BTU furnace, and washer/dryer prep. Sleeping capacity is published at 4.
At 34 ft 11 in it ranks 10 of 16 by length and sits 5 ft 1 in under a 40 ft pad; the next Cougar up, the 316RLS, is 9 in longer. Dry weight is 9,590 lb, 8 of 16, and hitch weight 1,890 lb, 9 of 16 and 5 lb under the 260MLE. That hitch figure is a 19.7% share of dry weight, 15 of 16 lowest; only the 364BHL at 20% is higher. RVUSA's 12,000 lb GVWR ranks 6 of 8, and the 2,410 lb it leaves over dry weight is 2 of 8 largest, behind the 320RDS at 2,467 lb, and equal to Keystone's carrying capacity of 2,410 lb: 5 of 16 in the family and the highest among the six Half-Tons.
The patio is a powered section of sidewall. Down, it opens the wall it occupies to the outside; up, it is a wall again. Keystone's feature list names both a kitchen slide and a main slide-out, while RVUSA's count for the record is one slide (see the source note). Whatever the count on the unit in front of you, this is the longest one-slide floor in the family by the record's figures, 3 ft past the 2700BH, and its 1,890 lb hitch weight is 455 lb more than the 28RLI's, the other rear-living Half-Ton with no patio. High carrying capacity and a high pin share arrive together on this plan; that is the tradeoff, and both halves are Keystone's numbers.
Keystone's 2027 Cougar Half-Ton 30REP floor plan and figures →Patio down, patio up, slide in
- Cycle the electric side patio fully down and fully up, and stand in the rear living room in both states. That wall is the plan's defining feature and the one to watch moving.
- Retract the slide Keystone calls the kitchen slide, then walk from the entry to the bathroom. The feature list also names a main slide-out; ask whether the two names refer to one slide on the unit in front of you.
- Confirm whether the unit has the 70 by 80 inch king bed option, then open the hidden pantry behind the entertainment center and the washer/dryer prep. 2,410 lb is the most any Half-Ton Cougar publishes for carrying capacity, and those are the places it gets used.
- Find the 18K and 15K BTU air conditioners on the roof and measure from the ground. Keystone publishes 12 ft 8 in as one figure with the A/C included rather than listed apart, and that is 10 in under a 13 ft 6 in clearance.
Rear living, with and without the patio
The other rear-living Half-Ton, the rear-living Cougar nine inches longer, and the one plan with a bigger GVWR margin.
2 ft 3 in shorter and 411 lb lighter, with hitch weight 455 lb lower at 1,435 lb, the family's lowest pin share at 15.6% against this plan's 19.7%. Two slides and 6 sleepers; RVUSA's GVWR is 11,000 lb against this plan's 12,000 lb, and carrying capacity is 589 lb lower at 1,821 lb.

It is 1,520 lb heavier with 230 lb more hitch weight at 2,120 lb, RVUSA's GVWR is 900 lb higher at 12,900 lb, and it sleeps 6. Open record →Heavier, yet 115 lb lighter on the pinCougar 320RDS1 ft 11 in longer and 1,693 lb heavier, but hitch weight is 1,775 lb, 115 lb less than this plan. Three slides, 6 sleepers, a rear den with an L-shaped sofa, and a GVWR of 13,750 lb that leaves a 2,467 lb margin, the only one in the family larger than this plan's 2,410 lb. Carrying capacity is 57 lb higher.
