What a rear sectional does to a 30 ft 11 in plan
Keystone's tagline is "Rear L-shape Sectional, best campside view", and the feature list fills in the rest: an entertainment center with a hidden pantry, a fireplace, a 70 by 80 inch king bed with underbed storage, a wardrobe slide, a shower with a glass door and skylight, a 21-inch range, a 10.6 cubic foot refrigerator, 50-amp service, a tankless water heater, 18K and 15K BTU air conditioners, and a 30K BTU furnace. Sleeping capacity is published at 4, and RVUSA counts one slide. It belongs to the Cougar Half-Ton subline.
At 30 ft 11 in it ranks 5 of 16 by length, and it shares that exact length with the 260MLE while weighing 1,434 lb less: 8,240 lb, 4 of 16 lightest. Hitch weight is 1,540 lb, 5 of 16, an 18.7% share of dry weight. RVUSA's 10,300 lb GVWR is 2 of 8 lowest, and it leaves 2,060 lb over dry weight, which is Keystone's carrying-capacity figure to the pound; that is subtraction, not a weigh-in.
The sectional is the rear of the plan. Where the entertainment center, fireplace, and kitchen fall relative to it, and which of them rides on the single slide, is what the drawing decides, and it also decides whether the sectional is usable with the slide in. Sleeping for 4 with only a king bed named means the sectional is the second bed to ask about.
Carrying capacity of 2,060 lb ranks 13 of 16. Among the six Half-Ton plans only the 26RKE (1,938 lb) and the 28RLI (1,821 lb) publish less, so a couple who packs heavy has a reason to look at the 30REP, which carries 350 lb more.
Keystone's 2027 Cougar Half-Ton 26RES floor plan and figures →Held against the plans that share its purpose
Two other rear-living Half-Tons and one Cougar with a bigger L-shaped sofa.
1 ft 9 in longer and 939 lb heavier, yet its hitch weight is 105 lb lower at 1,435 lb. It sleeps 6 instead of 4 on two slides; RVUSA's GVWR is 700 lb higher at 11,000 lb, and carrying capacity is 239 lb lower at 1,821 lb.
Open record →An inch shorter, living room in the middleCougar Half-Ton 26RKEOne inch shorter, 822 lb heavier, and 175 lb more on the pin, with 6 sleepers on two slides. GVWR is 700 lb higher at 11,000 lb, carrying capacity 122 lb lower at 1,938 lb, and outdoor entertainment replaces the rear sectional.
Open record →The big L-sofa versionCougar 320RDSKeystone's tagline is rear den with huge L-shaped sofa. It costs 5 ft 11 in of length, 3,043 lb of dry weight, and 235 lb of hitch weight, brings three slides and 6 sleepers, and publishes 407 lb more carrying capacity at 2,467 lb. Tanks go from 144 gal to 189 gal.
Open record →Four things to do on the sectional before anything else
- Sit at every position on the L and look out. The campside view is Keystone's claim, and the orientation of the site you park on decides which way the rear of the trailer faces.
- Retract the single slide and check whether the sectional, the entertainment center, and the path to the bathroom stay usable together.
- Open the hidden pantry behind the entertainment center and lift the king mattress for the underbed storage. Those are the two interior storage spaces Keystone names, and 2,060 lb of carrying capacity has to fit somewhere.
- Find both air conditioners on the roof, the 18K and the 15K BTU units, and measure from the ground. Keystone publishes 12 ft 7 in as one figure that includes them rather than listing the A/C apart; that is 11 in under a 13 ft 6 in clearance.
The figures behind the ranks
GVWR is RVUSA's 2027 figure; the rest is Keystone's.
Sources, dates, and the one figure that is arithmetic
Keystone's 2027 Cougar Half-Ton 26RES floor-plan page supplied every published figure except GVWR and slide count, which come from RVUSA's 2027 guide. The record's figures were read from Keystone on 2026-08-15 and the tagline and feature list on 2026-09-12. The 2,060 lb margin between RVUSA's GVWR and Keystone's dry weight is subtraction on this page, and it happens to equal Keystone's published carrying capacity. Ranks count all 16 Cougar records here, across the Sport, Half-Ton, and Cougar sublines.
