Wide open in the middle, and what that takes
Keystone's tagline is "Wide open mid living, outdoor entertainment". The feature list names a tall main living slide, a fireplace, an entertainment center with pantry, a booth dinette with 30-inch drawers, a bench seat ottoman with storage, two free-standing chairs, a full wardrobe slide with drawers, a large shower with glass door and skylight, and linen storage. The 70 by 80 inch king bed with underbed storage is listed as an option. Around the edges: two electric awnings, slide toppers, dual-heated holding tanks, washer/dryer prep, rear camera prep, a rear receiver hitch, a 60K tankless water heater, an 18K BTU air conditioner, and a 30K BTU furnace.
At 30 ft 10 in it is 3 of 16 shortest and sits 9 ft 2 in inside a 40 ft pad. Dry weight is 9,062 lb, 5 of 16; hitch weight 1,715 lb, 7 of 16, an 18.9% share of dry weight that ranks 11 of 16 lowest. RVUSA lists an 11,000 lb GVWR (4 of 8 lowest), and the margin over dry weight is 1,938 lb, the same number Keystone publishes as carrying capacity. That figure ranks 14 of 16; only the 28RLI at 1,821 lb and the 316RLS at 1,790 lb publish less.
The two slides and the long list of seating are what make the middle wide open, and they are also why this plan weighs 1,198 lb more than the 23MLE, the other mid-living Half-Ton with an outdoor feature, for 2 ft 11 in more length. A mid-living plan puts the seating, the slides, and the entertainment wall in the center of the trailer, and this one adds an outdoor entertainment center, a washer/dryer prep, and a rear receiver hitch, each a place to add weight against a 1,938 lb margin.

- Retract both slides, the tall main living slide in particular, and see how much of the wide-open middle survives: booth dinette, ottoman, two chairs, and the fireplace wall.
- Open the outdoor entertainment center and note what is installed and what you would add to it. Everything added counts against 1,938 lb, 14 of 16 in the family.
- Confirm whether the unit in front of you has the 70 by 80 inch king bed option or the standard bed, then lift it for the underbed storage.
- Look at the rear receiver hitch and the washer/dryer prep together. Both are places to hang weight on a plan whose published margin is 1,938 lb.

2 ft 11 in shorter, 1,198 lb lighter, and 440 lb lighter on the pin, with the same 6 sleepers. RVUSA's GVWR is 925 lb lower at 10,075 lb, but carrying capacity is 273 lb higher at 2,211 lb.
