A 32 ft 10 in Eagle with the kitchen turned toward the awning
At 32 ft 10 in the 28RLT is 1 of 9 by length in the 2027 Eagle lineup, 7 ft 2 in shorter than a 40 ft pad. It is 3 of 9 by dry weight at 9,465 lb and 3 of 9 by GVWR at 11,400 lb. Jayco lists a cargo carrying capacity of 1,935 lb, the same figure as GVWR minus dry weight, and that margin is the largest of the four shortest Eagles: the 29DDB, 31RLT, and 29RLC leave 1,835 lb, 1,800 lb, and 1,780 lb.
Jayco's drawing puts the living room at the back, with a tri-fold sofa across the rear wall and an island in the middle of the floor holding the sink. A theater seat and a table with chairs and bench share the off-door slide. The door-side slide carries the entertainment center with fireplace, a 10 cu ft 12V refrigerator, the microwave, and the cooktop, and its outer face holds an outside kitchen with its own refrigerator. The bath sits mid-ship with a 37 x 37 inch shower, and the front bedroom has a 66 x 80 inch Olympic bed with linen, wardrobe, and dresser in a small off-door slide.
That arrangement is the tradeoff to judge. One slide room holds nearly the whole kitchen plus the screen and fireplace, and the sink stays behind on the island, so cooking means working across the aisle between a fixed counter and a moving wall. The two other short rear-living Eagles, the 29RLC and 31RLT, run the kitchen down the off-door slide instead and put the seating on the door side.
Jayco's 2027 Eagle 28RLT drawing and specifications →Walkthrough checks for the 28RLT door-side kitchen slide
- Bring the door-side slide in, then open the 10 cu ft refrigerator and the microwave. Every indoor kitchen appliance on this drawing rides in that slide, so find out what you can still reach at a stop where the room stays closed.
- Stand at the island sink and turn to the cooktop across the aisle. With the slide out, that aisle is the path every pot takes from stove to sink, so do it once with a second person standing in the kitchen.
- Sit on the rear tri-fold sofa, then in the theater seat. The screen and fireplace are on the door-side slide, so decide which seat is the one you watch from.
- Ask whether the unit has the booth dinette Jayco offers in place of the free-standing table and chairs. It is a different piece of furniture in the same off-door slide.

28RLT against the eight other Eagles
Three Eagles to hold beside the 28RLT galley slide
1 in longer, 335 lb heavier, and a GVWR 200 lb higher, which leaves 1,800 lb over dry weight against 1,935 lb. Refrigerator, cooktop, pantry, and fireplace move to the off-door slide, the theater seat and table move to the door side, and the bedroom gains a wardrobe on each side of the bed.
Open record →Same rear sofa, no bedroom slideEagle 29RLC1 in longer and 45 lb lighter, but its GVWR is 200 lb lower, so its margin of 1,780 lb is the smallest in the family. The kitchen runs along the off-door slide and the bedroom is drawn without a slide.
Open record →When 179 gal of tanks is too littleEagle 321RSTS2 ft 7 in longer, 1,380 lb heavier, and a GVWR 1,800 lb higher. Tanks grow to 218 gal (81 fresh, 87 gray, 50 black), the refrigerator is drawn at 16 cu ft, and the Olympic bed moves into a slide.
Open record →28RLT sources, and a length Jayco now prints differently
Weights, GVWR, tank sizes, heights, and sleeping capacity in the table come from Jayco's 2027 Eagle 28RLT page as checked on 2026-08-15. The table credits the hitch weight to RVUSA's 2027 spec guide; Jayco's own page now lists the same hitch figure. The room layout above is taken from Jayco's drawing, read on 2026-09-26.
On that date Jayco's spec block printed a much shorter length for the 28RLT than the 32 ft 10 in in the table, while the neighboring 29RLC and 31RLT still read 32 ft 11 in. This page keeps the table figure, and the length rank built on it, until Jayco's page and drawing agree; measure the unit if a site limit is close. Jayco also says the 2026 Eagle HT fifth wheels continue for 2027 as the Eagle line, with the same floor plans under the shorter name.
