Rear kitchen, a tri-fold sofa room, and a loft above in the 390RKB
Forest River's 2027 drawing wraps overhead cabinets around the rear wall above a range, with the microwave below. The awning-side rear bump-out holds the fridge, a pantry, a desk, and a table with chairs, and across from it a second bump-out carries a tri-fold sofa, a power theater seat, and the TV and fireplace. Forward of that, inside a dashed outline, is a separate room with its own tri-fold sofa in its own bump-out, an entertainment center, and the label "loft above". The drawing also marks an outside TV. Steps and a sliding door lead to a bath with a seated shower, a linen cabinet, and a medicine cabinet, and the front bedroom has a king bed in a bump-out, a wardrobe, hamper and drawers, a dresser with a TV above, and washer and dryer prep. A 46 x 30 storage baggage door and a 21 ft awning are labelled outside.
Forest River's 2027 390RKB floor-plan drawing →390RKB walkthrough: range, loft room, bath, king bed
- At the rear, close the awning-side bump-out and check that the fridge and pantry still open. That slide also carries the desk and the table and chairs, so it decides whether the kitchen works at a rest stop.
- In the mid-coach room, ask the dealer how the loft above is reached on this unit, then look at it yourself and measure the space before deciding who uses it.
- Unfold both tri-fold sofas. The one in the loft room shares the space with the entertainment center, and the one in the living area sits beside the power theater seat; check each opens clear of its neighbor.
- Walk from the loft room to the bath. It is the only shower on the drawing, and it sits between the loft room and the front bedroom behind a sliding door.
Light at 14,484 lb, tight at 2,376 lb: the 390RKB's numbers
The 390RKB is 3 of 8 lightest at 14,484 lb dry, lighter than the 398FL, 380DB, and 381MUD, all within 4 in of its length. That is the case for shortlisting it: a rear kitchen and a second living room for less dry weight than the plans of similar length. Its GVWR, though, is 16,860 lb, 4 of 8 lowest, and 1,140 lb under the 18,000 lb rating on the 385RK, 383FB, 398FL, and 381MUD. The arithmetic margin that leaves is 2,376 lb, 7 of 8 in the family, and that is Forest River's cargo figure too.
The pin is the other tight number. At 2,860 lb it ranks 7 of 8 lightest, and at 19.7% of dry weight it is 7 of 8 lowest share. So the plan is light on the scale and heavy at the hitch, with less room than most of its siblings for what the loft room and rear kitchen will hold.
Tanks are split unevenly: 123 gal gray, matching the 385RK, but 41 gal black, for 239 gal with the 75 gal fresh tank. The drawing shows one toilet, in the bath with the seated shower, so the smaller black tank serves a single bathroom.
Three Cedar Creeks that frame the 390RKB's loft room
The first shares the rear kitchen, the second shares a loft, the third spends 2 in more length on a second bedroom. Differences are arithmetic from the published figures.
1 ft 6 in shorter and 295 lb heavier, with a GVWR 1,140 lb higher, so cargo capacity rises 845 lb to 3,221 lb and pin weight drops 170 lb. A reclining sectional replaces both tri-fold sofas, and black capacity doubles to 82 gal.
Open record →The other loft, at the frontCedar Creek 381MUDIts loft sits over a bench in a front room with a Murphy bed and jackknife sofa, and its bedroom and bath are at the rear. It is 2 in longer and 945 lb heavier, but with 370 lb less on the pin and 195 lb more cargo capacity at 2,571 lb.
Open record →A second king bedroom insteadCedar Creek 380DB2 in longer, 540 lb heavier, and 45 lb lower on GVWR, which cuts cargo capacity by 585 lb to 1,791 lb, the smallest in the family. It trades the rear kitchen and loft room for king beds at both ends.

390RKB sources and the standard-build weights
All weights, the 43 ft 3 in length, the 158 in exterior height, tanks, slides, and cargo capacity are taken from Forest River's 2027 Cedar Creek 390RKB page, last checked on 2026-08-15. Rooms are read from the labels on Forest River's 2027 390RKB drawing on 2026-09-26. The table's sleeping capacity comes from RVUSA's 2027 spec guide. Forest River gives the dry weight and cargo capacity as estimated averages for a standard build; with a cargo figure 7 of 8 in the family, the exact trailer's label is worth reading before the loft room is furnished.
