A rear kitchen and a reclining sectional in the 385RK's 41 ft 9 in
Forest River's 2027 drawing puts the kitchen across the rear. Overhead cabinets wrap the back wall above a range and a microwave, and the awning-side rear bump-out holds the fridge, a pantry, a desk, and the TV and fireplace. Opposite, a reclining sectional sofa with a chaise fills its own bump-out, and a sink island with two stools stands between them. Mid-coach is a small room labelled for washer and dryer prep, with a toilet and sink drawn in it, beside the steps. The bedroom has the king bed in an opposite-wall bump-out facing a dresser and TV in an awning-side one, and the front of the trailer is a bath with a seated shower and a walk-in wardrobe with a dresser and shelves. Outside, the drawing labels a 46 x 30 storage baggage door, an outside TV, and a 21 ft awning.
The shortlist case is the tank package. The 385RK is the only Cedar Creek pairing a 123 gal gray tank with an 82 gal black tank, for 280 gal in total with the 75 gal fresh tank. It does that while ranking 3 of 8 for shortest length and 2 of 8 for cargo capacity, behind only the 34 ft 7 in 290RL.
The tradeoff is where the kitchen sits. With the fridge, pantry, range, and overhead cabinets all at the rear, the kitchen and its contents ride at the end farthest from the pin, and the TV and fireplace share a bump-out with the fridge and desk. The published pin share is 18.2%, 4 of 8 lowest, but groceries and dishes stowed at the rear shift the loaded balance in a way the published figure cannot show.
Forest River's 2027 385RK floor-plan drawing →385RK checks at the range, the desk, and the washer and dryer prep room
- Count seats for a meal. The drawing shows two stools at the island and a desk in the awning-side bump-out; the reclining sectional is the other seating, so decide where a third and fourth person eat.
- Close the awning-side rear bump-out and check whether the fridge and pantry still open. On this plan that one slide carries the fridge, the pantry, the desk, and the TV and fireplace.
- Open the mid-coach room with the washer and dryer prep and its toilet and sink, and decide whether it works as the guest bathroom, since the only shower is past the bedroom at the front.
- Walk around the outside to the 46 x 30 baggage door at the rear and the outside TV, and check what they share the awning wall with once the 21 ft awning is out.
The 385RK's 280 gal tank total and where it ranks
Rear-kitchen and front-bath neighbors of the 385RK
Keeps the rear kitchen and the 123 gal gray tank but halves black capacity to 41 gal and adds a middle room with a tri-fold sofa under a loft. It is 1 ft 6 in longer and 295 lb lighter, yet its GVWR is 1,140 lb lower, so cargo capacity falls 845 lb to 2,376 lb and pin weight rises 170 lb.
Open record →Same front bath, rear living roomCedar Creek 383FBIts drawing repeats the front bath, walk-in wardrobe, and shelves, and swaps the rear kitchen for a hide-a-bed sofa and recliners. Tank sizes, weights, length, GVWR, pin weight, slides, and cargo capacity are from Forest River's 2027 Cedar Creek 385RK page, last checked on 2026-08-15; room positions and the exterior labels are read from Forest River's 2027 385RK floor-plan drawing on 2026-09-26. The sleeping capacity in the table comes from RVUSA's 2027 spec guide. Forest River labels the dry weight and cargo capacity as estimated averages for a standard build, so a unit with added options can carry less than the 3,221 lb shown here.
