Two king beds and two showers on the 380DB drawing
Forest River titles this plan's page "380DB - DSO", and its 2027 drawing has a bedroom at both ends. At the rear, a king bed sits in an opposite-wall bump-out with a dresser and a TV, and behind it is a room labelled with a shower, with a toilet and sink drawn in. The middle of the coach holds the kitchen and living area: a Murphy pantry, microwave, and fridge in the opposite-wall bump-out, a swivel-mounted TV and fireplace, a sink island, and a power theater seat beside a table with chairs in the awning-side bump-out. Steps and a sliding door lead forward to a bath with a seated shower and a linen cabinet, then to a front bedroom with a second king bed, a wardrobe, hamper and drawers, a dresser with a TV above, and washer and dryer prep.
Forest River also draws a separate inset beside the main plan: two bunk mats labelled 40 x 67, each with a cabinet, and a TV hookup. Where those mats sit in the trailer is a question for the dealer.

Where the 380DB's 1,791 lb has to go
Two king bedrooms and two showers are the reason to shortlist the 380DB, and they are also what squeezes it. Its dry weight sits in the middle of the family, but its GVWR of 16,815 lb is 1,185 lb under the 381MUD, the other plan at 43 ft 5 in, and the arithmetic margin that leaves is 1,791 lb, the smallest of the eight. Everything packed for the second bedroom, the second shower, and the bunk mats, along with fresh water and whatever sits in the washer and dryer prep, comes out of that number.
Against the 381MUD the tradeoff is explicit. Same length, same four slides, same tanks, and a king bedroom at the rear as well; the 381MUD swaps the front bedroom for a room with a jackknife sofa and a Murphy bed, and it carries 780 lb more cargo capacity. A household that wants a second king bed rather than a fold-down one pays for it here in payload, not in length.
Four stops on a 380DB walkthrough, rear shower to front king
- Start at the rear room with the shower and trace how it is reached. If the only way in is through the rear bedroom, anyone using it from the living area walks through that bedroom.
- Ask the dealer to show where the two 40 x 67 bunk mats go on this unit, how they are reached, and what the cabinets and TV hookup in Forest River's inset attach to.
- Close the awning-side bump-out and check whether the power theater seat and the table and chairs leave a clear aisle between the kitchen and the forward steps.
- Before loading, read the cargo label on the exact trailer. With 1,791 lb published, filling the 75 gal fresh tank and stocking two bedrooms will use a large part of it, so weigh the loaded trailer before a long trip.

Weights, length, GVWR, pin weight, tanks, slides, cargo capacity, and the 157 in exterior height come from Forest River's 2027 page for this plan, titled "380DB - DSO" and last checked on 2026-08-15. The room layout and the bunk-mat inset are read from the labels on Forest River's 2027 380DB drawing on 2026-09-26. Sleeping capacity in the table comes from RVUSA's 2027 spec guide. Forest River marks both the dry weight and the cargo capacity as estimated averages for a standard-build unit, so read the exact trailer's label.
