381MUD published specifications, table first
Bath and king bed at the rear, Murphy bed and loft at the front of the 381MUD
Forest River's 2027 drawing reads from the rear wall forward. At the rear wall, which is marked for drop-down storage, sits a bath with a seated shower, a closet, washer and dryer prep, and a linen cabinet. Ahead of it, the rear bedroom has the king bed in an opposite-wall bump-out facing a dresser and a TV. Steps lead into the middle of the coach, where a Murphy pantry, overhead cabinets, a microwave, and the fridge line the opposite-wall bump-out, a swivel-mounted TV and fireplace stands near a sink island, and a power theater seat and a table with chairs fill the awning-side bump-out. Further steps lead to the front, where a small area with a bench and overhead cabinets sits under a loft, and the front room has a jackknife sofa in a bump-out, a Murphy bed between two wardrobes, and loft access. A toilet and sink are drawn in a small room beside the Murphy bed. The drawing labels a 15 ft awning at the rear and an 18 ft awning at the front.
The numbers are the reason to look twice. Dry weight ranks 8 of 8 and length ties the 380DB for longest at 43 ft 5 in, yet pin weight is 2,490 lb, 2 of 8 lightest, and 16.1% of dry weight, 1 of 8 lowest share. Set beside that split, Forest River's drawing places the only labelled shower, the washer and dryer prep, and the king bedroom at the rear, and a sofa and a fold-down bed at the front. The pairing is an observation from the drawing, not a weight measurement.
The tradeoff follows from the same arrangement. The front room is a lounge that becomes a bedroom when the Murphy bed comes down, and its occupants cross the whole coach to reach the only shower. The rear bedroom has that shower beside it. On an 18,000 lb GVWR the arithmetic margin is 2,571 lb, 6 of 8 in the family.

Bench, loft, and Murphy bed: 381MUD checks
- Bring the jackknife sofa's bump-out in and lower the Murphy bed. Check that it opens fully with the room closed up, since that is how it will be used at an overnight stop.
- Climb to the loft above the bench and measure it on the unit, then ask the dealer what Forest River rates it for and how the loft access is meant to be used.
- Sit on the bench under the overhead cabinets and decide what it is for on your trips: boots, bags, or a place to sit at the foot of the front steps.
- If a washer and dryer go into the rear prep space, remember they add weight at the end farthest from the pin, which moves the loaded pin share away from the published 16.1%.

Weights, dimensions, tanks, slides, and cargo capacity are from Forest River's 2027 Cedar Creek 381MUD page, last checked on 2026-08-15. The layout is read from the labels on Forest River's 2027 381MUD drawing on 2026-09-26. RVUSA's 2027 spec guide supplies the sleeping capacity in the table. Forest River treats the dry weight and cargo capacity as estimated averages for a standard build, so the pin share above describes the published figures and the trailer's own label describes the unit.
