3,015 lb on the pin: start the 383FB with the truck
Pin weight is where a fifth wheel spends a pickup's payload, and the 383FB lists more of it than any other Cedar Creek: 3,015 lb, 8 of 8, and 155 lb above the next heaviest, the 390RKB. As a share of dry weight it is 19.9%, also 8 of 8. The 361RL, the rear-living plan 2 ft 6 in shorter, puts 390 lb less on the pin; the 381MUD, 1 ft 4 in longer and 290 lb heavier, puts 525 lb less there.
Forest River's drawing shows the front of this trailer given to the bath and the walk-in wardrobe, with its dresser and two runs of shelves. Whatever goes into that wardrobe loads the pin end, so the loaded figure will sit above the published one. A buyer who likes this plan should size the truck from the trailer's own label plus a realistic wardrobe, not from the published figure alone.
Hide-a-bed at the rear, walk-in wardrobe at the front of the 383FB
The rear of the 2027 drawing matches the shorter rear-living plans: overhead cabinets across the rear wall, a hide-a-bed sofa, an angled swivel-mounted TV and fireplace, and a Murphy pantry. The kitchen bump-out on the opposite wall has overhead cabinets, a microwave, and the fridge, and a sink island stands in the aisle. The awning-side bump-out holds recliners, a table with chairs, and its own overhead cabinet. Past the steps, a small area carries a bench, overhead cabinets, a step, and washer and dryer prep. The bedroom is unusual for the family: the king bed sits in an awning-side bump-out and faces a TV and dresser in an opposite-wall bump-out, so both bedroom walls move. The front bath has a seated shower. A 21 ft awning is labelled.
The reason to shortlist it over the 361RL is what the extra 2 ft 6 in and the fourth slide deliver: a walk-in wardrobe, a bench and washer and dryer prep by the steps, and 240 lb more published cargo capacity, 2,861 lb, which ranks 4 of 8. Length is 4 of 8 shortest at 42 ft 1 in, 2 ft 1 in over a 40-foot pad.
Forest River's 2027 383FB floor-plan drawing →383FB alternatives with less weight at the pin
Each keeps something the 383FB offers and puts less on the hitch. Differences are arithmetic from the published figures.
Same hide-a-bed, recliners, and kitchen, on three slides, with the bath behind a sliding door ahead of the steps and a front king bedroom. It is 2 ft 6 in shorter, 1,135 lb lighter, and 390 lb lighter on the pin, and lists 240 lb less cargo capacity at 2,621 lb.

383FB chain from the bench by the steps to the walk-in wardrobe
- Sit on the bench beside the washer and dryer prep and check whether both can be used at once, or whether laundry appliances would crowd the seat.
- Close both bedroom bump-outs. With the king bed on one moving wall and the TV and dresser on the other, confirm there is still a way past the bed to the front bath.
- Load the walk-in wardrobe's dresser and shelves in your head with a season's clothes. That weight sits at the pin end, on top of the published 3,015 lb.
- Check the roof on the unit: 160 in published, which is 2 in under a 13 ft 6 in clearance before anything is added to the roof.
Where the 383FB's figures and room labels were read
Forest River's 2027 Cedar Creek 383FB page, last checked on 2026-08-15, supplies every weight, length, tank, slide, and height on this page. Room positions come from the labels on Forest River's 2027 383FB floor-plan drawing, read on 2026-09-26. The sleeping capacity in the table is taken from RVUSA's 2027 spec guide. Forest River calls the dry weight and cargo capacity estimated averages based on a standard build, which matters most on the plan with the family's heaviest pin: weigh the actual trailer.
