What 30 ft 11 in buys in the Cougar subline
Keystone sorts the Cougar name into three sublines, and the 260MLE is the entry to the largest of them: the plain Cougar tier, where every plan carries 75 gallons of fresh water, 76 of gray, and 38 of black. At 30 ft 11 in it is 4 of 16 shortest across the whole lineup and leaves 9 ft 1 in of a 40-foot pad unused. The Half-Ton 26RES is exactly the same length, and that pairing is the cleanest way to see what the subline costs: the 260MLE is 1,434 lb heavier at 9,674 lb dry, carries 355 lb more on the pin, and in exchange has 45 gallons more tank volume (189 against 144, arithmetic from the published tank sizes) plus 266 lb more carrying capacity.
Keystone's tagline reads 'Mid Living w/ Pull Out Table, King Bed, Outside Kitchen'. The named features are a pull-out table that works as a desk or a dining surface, a 5,500 BTU electric fireplace, a bedroom slide, a shower with skylight and glass door, solid surface counters, a 16 cu ft refrigerator, a 21-inch range, frameless dual-pane windows, and full pass-through storage. Two slides in total. One detail to carry into the walkthrough: the tagline says king bed, and the feature list gives the mattress as 60 by 80 inches.
Inside its own subline the 260MLE is the odd one out. The next plan up, the 290RLS, is 2 ft 9 in longer, 893 lb heavier, and carries 165 lb more on the pin, and every plain-subline plan from there on has at least three slides; the 260MLE has two. What it keeps is the subline's tank package and its 13 ft 4 in height, both of which separate it from the Half-Ton plans that match it on length. Carrying capacity, 2,326 lb, ranks 8 of 16 and is higher than five of the six Half-Ton plans; only the 30REP, at 2,410 lb, carries more among them.

Walkthrough items for a mid-living plan with a pull-out table
A short list, because the plan is simple; each item exists because of something the tagline names.
- Pull the table out in both of its roles, desk and dining, and sit at it with the living slide closed. A mid-living plan puts the table and the seating in the same stretch of floor, so the closed-slide footprint is what you live with at a rest stop.
- Measure the mattress. Keystone's tagline says king bed and its feature list gives 60 by 80 inches, so bring a tape and check which one the unit on the lot actually has before you buy bedding.
- Open the outside kitchen and the full pass-through storage door from the same side and see whether both can be used with the awning down, and note which exterior wall each occupies relative to the entry door.
- The pull-out table is the only dining surface Keystone names, so count the chairs and find where they stow for travel; that number decides whether four people eat inside.
Three plans that answer the same question differently
Picked for what each does with the mid-living idea or with the same length, not for nearest weight. Differences are arithmetic on the published figures.
The Half-Ton plan that matches the 260MLE to the inch at 30 ft 11 in. It is 1,434 lb lighter, puts 355 lb less on the pin, and carries 266 lb less; it also sleeps the same 4. Keystone's tagline gives it a rear L-shape sectional instead of a mid living room, and its 54, 60, and 30 gallon tanks total 144 against 189.
Open record →The shorter mid-living, outdoor-kitchen planCougar Half-Ton 23MLEKeystone's Half-Ton 23MLE carries the same three ideas in its tagline, short, mid-living, and outdoor kitchen, on a body 3 ft shorter. It is 1,810 lb lighter, has 620 lb less hitch weight, gives up one of the two slides, sleeps 6 against the 260MLE's 4, and carries 115 lb less.
Open record →Mid living with two slides at almost the same lengthCougar Half-Ton 26RKE1 in shorter, 612 lb lighter, 180 lb less on the pin, the same two slides, sleeping for 6 rather than 4, and 388 lb less carrying capacity. Its tagline reads wide open mid living with outdoor entertainment, and Keystone names a booth dinette and two free-standing chairs where the 260MLE has the pull-out table.

Length, weights, carrying capacity, tank sizes, sleeping capacity, height, and the tagline and feature list all come from Keystone's 2027 Cougar 260MLE floor-plan page. The figures on this record were read from it on 2026-08-15, and the layout text was read again on 2026-09-12. Keystone publishes the 13 ft 4 in figure as the unit's height without a separate line for the roof air conditioner. Ranks are computed across the 16 Cougar plans this site records, Sport and Half-Ton included.
