Sixteen Cougars, and this one at the bottom of every weight column
One slide, a bar instead of a booth
Keystone's tagline for the 2100ML is three items long: mid living room, bar dining, master king bed. The feature list adds a king bed with underbed storage, a large shower with a skylight, a black stainless steel sink with a high-rise chef's faucet, a tankless water heater, a 40-inch LED TV, a 10.6 cubic foot refrigerator, and one electric awning with LED lighting. This is one of the two Cougar Sport plans, the comfort tier below the Half-Ton and Cougar sublines, and the whole thing rides on one slide.
Bar dining is the tradeoff. The tagline names no booth dinette and the feature list names no freestanding table, so the bar is the eating surface, and the number of stools that fit at it decides how four people eat inside a plan published for 4 sleepers. The 23MLE, the next-shortest Cougar at 2 ft longer, runs the same mid-living formula with a booth dinette, two freestanding chairs, and a tri-fold sofa; that is what the extra length and 784 lb of dry weight buy.
Where the 2100ML separates from every other short Cougar is the cargo line. Keystone publishes 2,870 lb of carrying capacity, 2 of 16 in the family: 659 lb more than the 23MLE and 770 lb more than the 2700BH, on the same 54 gal fresh, 60 gal gray, and 30 gal black tanks (144 gal in total) that every Sport and Half-Ton plan carries. The lightest trailer in the lineup is also one of the two that can carry the most.
Keystone's 2027 Cougar Sport 2100ML floor plan and figures →Walk it with the slide in and the stools counted
- Count the seats at the bar and find where the stools ride for travel. Keystone names bar dining and nothing else as a place to eat, so that count is the plan's dining capacity.
- Retract the single slide and stand in the mid living room. On the shortest floor in the family the slide carries a large share of the living space, and the retracted aisle is what you get at a rest stop.
- Lift the king mattress for the underbed storage. It is the one interior storage volume Keystone names, and it is where a good part of 2,870 lb of carrying capacity would have to go.
- Measure the roof at the air conditioner. Keystone publishes 12 ft 0 in as a single height figure with the A/C included rather than listed apart, which the record labels as height with A/C. That leaves 1 ft 6 in under a 13 ft 6 in clearance, the most of any Cougar.
