The 3100RL is the Montana that fits a 40 ft pad
Both other Montanas run past 40 feet: the 3800FL by 2 ft 7 in and the 3900RK by 3 ft 10 in. The 3100RL stops 4 ft 1 in short of that pad. It is also the lightest of the three at 15,030 lb dry, with the lowest published pin weight, 3,000 lb, and its cargo carrying capacity of 3,970 lb is 1,230 lb more than the 3800FL's and 1,650 lb more than the 3900RK's.
Keystone's tagline begins "Rear Living Room" and ends "Master Suite". The drawing puts a sofa across the rear wall, theater seating and a desk with pull-out dinette in the door-side slide, and a pivoting entertainment center with fireplace and TV in the road-side slide beside the range and a 20 cu ft 12-volt refrigerator with ice maker. The sink lives in a center island with dishwasher prep and pull-out dog dishes. Ahead of the entry steps come the bath and a bedroom with a king bed, wardrobe, washer and dryer prep, and a dresser with fireplace.

One bath and a 50 gal black tank: the 3100RL's rear-living tradeoff
A rear living room on the shortest Montana has a cost, and it shows up in the plumbing. The drawing gives the 3100RL one bath, and Keystone lists its black tank at 50 gal, half the 100 gal on the 3800FL and 3900RK, both of which also draw a second toilet room near the entry steps. The fresh tank holds 77 gal, 27 gal more than the black tank; that is arithmetic from the two published capacities, not a measurement of how any unit is used.
The rear living room also puts the theater seating and sofa at the back while the bedroom, with its washer and dryer prep, sits over the pin. Keystone lists that prep as standard. Stacked appliances installed there add weight ahead of the axles and show up as pin weight above the 3,000 lb published for the empty trailer.

Checks that only apply to the 3100RL's island-and-sofa layout
- Swing the entertainment center Keystone labels "pivot ent. center with fireplace & TV" and sit in the theater seating, then on the rear sofa. The TV lives in the road-side slide, so check the view from both before deciding the rear wall is where evenings happen.
- Close every slide and walk from the entry steps to the rear sofa. The center island with the sink stays where it is when the kitchen and theater-seating slides come in, and that gap is the aisle you will use at a rest stop.
- With the bed slide closed, open the wardrobe and the washer and dryer prep space at the front of the bedroom, then try the pull-out TV and pull-out storage tray Keystone marks on the door side of that room.
- Measure the roof on the unit. Keystone gives one exterior height, 13 ft 4 in, without separating the air conditioner, and its feature list names a main unit plus smaller second and third units. The published figure leaves 2 in under a 13 ft 6 in clearance.
The other two Montanas, sorted by where the living room went
Only two siblings exist in this Montana lineup. Differences are computed from the published figures.
6 ft 8 in longer, 1,720 lb heavier dry, and 490 lb more on the pin at 3,490 lb, with the same four sleeping places. Cargo capacity drops by 1,230 lb to 2,740 lb, but the black tank doubles to 100 gal. Two facing sofas fill the front, and the bedroom and main bath move to the rear.
Open record →Kitchen across the rear wall insteadMontana 3900RK7 ft 11 in longer and 2,055 lb heavier, with 405 lb more pin weight. Sleeping capacity rises from 4 to 6 and tank capacity from 227 gal to 327 gal, including a 150 gal gray tank, while cargo capacity falls by 1,650 lb to 2,320 lb, the lowest in the family.
Open record →3100RL: two readings of Keystone's page
The length, weights, cargo capacity, tanks, sleeping capacity, and exterior height on this page come from Keystone's 2027 Montana 3100RL page as checked on 2026-08-15. The layout comes from the same page and its 2027 drawing, read on 2026-09-26. On that second reading Keystone's specification table showed a lower shipping weight, a lower hitch weight, and a lower carrying capacity than the August figures used here. The ranks above hold on either set. Treat the weights as the August publication and go by the label on the exact unit.
Keystone publishes the exterior height as a single figure, 13 ft 4 in, and labels it without separating the A/C, so the table's 160 in gives no split between roof and air conditioner.
